I shot this portrait at the Nunnery Ruins in St Albans, north of London, a beautiful medieval space where locals go to chill. The families with their loud children cleared the area when I got on the location scouting that afternoon, so we could move around the place without them interrupting the set-up.
I chose this angle to have a nice contrasty frame with the face before it falls off to meet brighter colour at the chest area. Thanks to this the face and features are more striking.
