A summer in hearts in the middle of winter.
Thanks to the efforts of the organisers, volunteers, presenters the annual Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, an NGO from Poland, event has successfully run again this year on 12th January in Scala.
The north London venue filled up with the audience gathered to support the GOCC's goals (in Polish WOŚP), raising money towards medical equipment for children hospitals.
During the event, various international artists have performed and in between the shows, the volunteers run auctions and thanked sponsors, that made this event happen.
The auctions featured various items, from a massive heart-shaped cake, the symbol of the charity, through books, albums, paintings, signed instruments, with the jewel in the crown being the cult Fiat 126p, a tiny gem of a car, popular in 70s and 80s (an equivalent of an old Mini, size wise). This car was sponsored by a firm, which representative mentioned, she was using the equipment bought by the WOSP charity back in 1995, as a newborn. A truly moving moment.
Please check out the below reportage, I included the concert part in further posts, this is dedicated to the organisers.
